Hard to find a travel guide specifically for Romania. This one was so helpful on recent trip! Pictures are great and information on towns, places to eat and see much appreciated.

Good information but not as easy to follow as other travel books I have read.

While acceptable as a somehow quick guide to Romania, and while covering in general most destinations in this country, it could be easily observed by a Romanian-born reader that the author is not a Romanian and does not have any real knowledge about Romania. I never understood why travel guides are not written exclusively by people that were born and lived in the country they want to advertise. The book is ok as a quick guide and a average informational package for a visitor to Romania, and the author(s) had probably help with basic advice from Romanians. However, there are omissions that are bothersome in what regards certain touristic areas and even social or historical information. Just one, for example, inadmissible mistake - naming the city of Cluj as "Magyar city", along with Targu-Mures and Oradea! The city of Cluj does not even have a majority of Hungarian population (about 17%). Targu-Mures has about half population of Hunagrians and Oradea about 25%. Regarding the touristic objective, many omissions as well... Transalpina road is mentioned and "described" in only 4-5 lines, while it is one of the most scenic and one of the most attractive roads in Romania and Europe. The Ranca resort on Transalpina is not even mentioned at all. While describing the Sibiu region and presenting the Marginimea Sibiului area, the description is at best superficial. While one of the most ethnographically significant in the area and in Romania, the author introduces the reader to hardly two towns, and none of them the most significant. The village of Poiana-Sibiului, which is the "jewel" of Marginimea Sibiului, with a huge cultural contribution in the area and beyond, with a wooden church from 1766, is not even mentioned. Accomodations in turistic areas are presented really superficially, just two or three names in each area, and even those are not by far the most representative. Casa Humor, in Gura Humorului, one of the best lodges in town, is not even mentioned, for example. However, the author made a real effort to be objective and accurate (as far as his knowledge about Romania would allow him) and all in all this is a good guide, well informed and educational on most topics, but don't expect to get the full Romania out of it. Do your own homework if you travel, find out more about the destinations, and then couple it with this guide.

I've never needed to use glasses to read something, but the print is so small I may need to buy some to read the book. Not sure why a publisher would put something out that's so hard to reed.

I used this for a 3 week road trip to Romania.Excellent for planning the road trip.Enough information for me to decide which places I want to visit.At that time (2017) was pretty much the only comprehensive Romania travel guide I could find.

This is probably the best compilation of poetry that I have come across. Nikita Gill’s words are so powerful and beautiful. This book is truly one of the best purchases I have ever made.

This was a face poetry read for me and I enjoyed it mostly. The language is very flowery which seems average for poetry but feels overdone in this book. I loved the fairy tale retelling poems and the ones about the Greek goddesses. Those peaked my interest about how life could look if we tried hard enough. It was easy to read, fun, and overall worth it.

This book left me feeling like a strong, powerful goddess! There is so much hope to be found in just a few pages. Her writing is beyond beautiful, and her literary voice is both soothing and empowering. She is a star on the rise!

I bought this book based on a poem I read that was very cool and empowering. I was surprised at how 99% of the poems were very anti male. I have 3 boys and found the generalizations unpleasant. If your a gung ho feminist your going to love it.

I read a lot of poetry books, had high hopes for this one, it didn't deliver. I love nikita on Instagram but her book isn't one of my favorites.

We stumbled across Gill while looking for a protest poem. Her work is powerful, beautiful, stunning. It stays with you. My teenage daughter will be using one of the poems for a Girl Scout ceremony. Then I get the book back and can immerse myself.

Ordered this for my 4th graders Faces of History end of year paper. Glad to see they included real paintings, statues and current photos of Constantine and his empire. Downside- it was poorly written and awkwardly composed...seemed to be translated from another language. I won’t order any more books from this publisher.

Multiple mistakes. Conciseness and simple language do not necessitate cheap reading. Looks like singular sentences were cut and pasted from Wikipedia into a somewhat random mess. Some material also inappropriate for children.

This book is exactly what each individual and couple dealing with childlessness, etc, should have at their disposal. Chelsea begins with her very personal story, and how her journey through her pain and disappointment was supported at every step by Scripture and her Faith. This is not only a resource for the specific topic of childlessness, but also for anyone dealing with loss or disappointment. Scripture after scripture, as well as Biblical examples of childless women, are presented throughout Chelsea's story. This book should be on every pastor and counselor's desk as an important resource. Highly recommended!

A book full of truth and hope on childlessness has been so needed. I am so thankful for Chelsea sharing her journey of grieving and loss in this book, and pointing the reader to the truth of God’s word on grief, loss, and the hope that is found in him, and only him. Please read this book!! (Even if you’re not walking through this journey. Chances are you will know someone who is).

I support everyone's views on different issues and the author explains her story in a very relate-able way. But if you are choosing to go the IVF route, this book is not the best support for that specific load of emotions.

An empathetic and lovely read. Recommended both for those living this and those loving ones who are.

In this excellent book, Chelsea shares about learning at age 19 that she could could never carry the children she longed to mother. She writes deeply and personally of walking the path of childlessness, surrendering one of her deepest dreams.I am a mom myself, so I can't identify with the specific details of Chelsea's journey with childlessness. I can, however, unreservedly recommend "Longing for Motherhood," not only to those who, like Chelsea, are faced with childlessness but also to those of us who love the many dear souls walking the road of infertility, miscarriage, or loss.Far from offering nice platitudes or simple solutions for healing, Chelsea details her raw and honest struggle with barrenness. In reading her words, I have been struck by how intentionally, and at times desperately, Chelsea has fought to know and delight in her God despite a severe test of faith.In so doing, Chelsea offers wise counsel not only for the childless, but also for all who walk through dark valleys.

This is an important book addressing the pain and suffering as the result of being unable to bear children. Chelsea Sololik found out at the age of nineteen that she would be unable to bear children. Her journey through the grief and suffering as a result of that condition is at times painfully honest. She openly shares her feelings as she processes what that means as she gives up the desire of bearing her own children.She offers practical advice to individuals who are experiencing the same pain she has, those who are involved with someone dealing with infertility and finally how the church can minister to those who are suffering.This book also explores how to grieve unfulfilled desires; how to trust God in the seasons of sorrow; how to fight for and hold on to hope and finally how to find purpose when a traditional mothering role is not an option.I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with the issue of bearing their own children. I chose to read Longing for Motherhood after my husband and I experienced a miscarriage. Author Chelsea Patterson Sobolik writes with incredible honesty, while recognizing God’s faithfulness in the midst of hardship. I reread several portions of Longing for Motherhood, realizing that Sobolik’s words resonated deeply with me. I also read several sections out loud to family members, because Sobolik put words to many of the emotions I felt but struggled to describe.I particularly appreciated how Sobolik incorporates Scripture frequently throughout Longing for Motherhood. She allows for honest, real grieving while depicting a balance between grief and hope. She doesn’t give pat answers, and doesn’t shy away from strong emotions and diffulct questions. Grief, whether due to childlessness or another loss, can be cyclical at times. Longing for Motherhood is a worthy companion throughout the grief process.Sobolik also challenges readers to consider how to use motherly traits to minister to others in various circumstances, even in the absence of biological children. Finally, towards the end of Longing for Motherhood, Sobolik turns her writing towards church communities.
